1. Opening Combat Aircraft to Women
DACOWITS recommends the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force open combat aviation positions to women, including Army Air Cavalry.
2. Opening Navy Vessels to Women
DACOWITS supports repeal of Title l0, U.S. C. 6015 (U.S. NAVY) currently pending in Congress. Pending repeal of the law, DACOWITS supports the Chief of Naval Operations' proposal to provide additional opportunities under current law by opening more classes of ships and numbered fleets staffs as well as maritime patrol aircraft to women.
3. Women in Field Artillery
DACOWITS recommends the Secretary of the Army keep field artillery open to women and expand opportunities by opening Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS).
4. Changes in Assignment Policy
As the Department of Defense defines exception to the general policy of opening assignments to women (e.g., direct combat on the ground, physical requirements, privacy arrangements), DACOWITS recommendsthat great care be taken to ensure no positions or skills previously or currently open to women be closed.
5. Command Opportunities in Medical Facilities
DACOWITS recommends the Army open to the Army Nurse Corps and other AMEDD officers' opportunities for career-enhancing assignments, including command of medical facilities and units involved in the delivery of health care.
6. Women in Naval Mobile Construction Battalions (NMCB)
DACOWITS recommends the Secretary of Defense take such steps as necessary to authorize the immediate assignment of women to Naval Mobile Construction Battalions (NMCB), as recommended by the DoD Task Force on women in the Military in 1988.
7. Marine Security Guard Duty
DACOWITS recommends the Secretary of Defense, in coordination with the State Department, support the Marine Corps efforts to open Security Guard posts now closed to women based upon facilities limitations.
8. Air National Guard 1993 Process Action Team
DACOWITS recommends the Air National Guard adopt and implement the Recommendationsof the 1993 Process Action Team on Women in the Air National Guard
9. Pathfinder Training
DACOWITS recommends the Army provide women soldiers with the opportunity to enter unfilled pathfinder training seats on the same basis as men.
10. Women's Health Care
DACOWITS recommends that the Secretary of Defense, in conjunction with the Secretary of Transportation, appoint a task force to assess the need for routine OB/GYN care for women, especially those at overseas and isolated locations, and to develop a plan which will meet those needs.
11. Child Care
DACOWITS recommends that the Department of Defense seek additional funding from the Congress for family child care subsidies. DACOWITS also recommends that the DoD provide base commanders greater flexibility in the use of both non-appropriated funds and funds generated from Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) activities for child care services to military personnel.
12. Air Force Child Care Policy
DACOWITS recommends that the Air Force abolish its policy which prohibits subsidies for family child care providers, and that it take the necessary measures to authorize such subsidies.
13. Readiness and Family Issues
DACOWITS recommends that DoD and each of the Services continue to re-emphasize that up-to-date and comprehensive dependent/family care plans are the joint responsibility of the unit commander and individual Service members by insisting that the regulations regarding the Dependent Care Certificate be enforced.
14. Eating disorders
DACOWITS recommends the Coast Guard adopt treatment guidelines for eating disorders similar to those used by the other Services. A written report is requested for the February 1994 Executive Committee Meeting.
15. Army Ceremonial Units
DACOWITS recommends the Chief of Staff of the Army fully integrate women into all Army ceremonial units, and, in particular, in the Military District of Washington, to include the Tomb of the Unknowns the Continental Color Guard, and the U.S. Army Drill Team.

Women in the Military Academies
DACOWITS commends the United States Air Force for institutionalizing mechanisms to improve the social climate at the Academy, especially the establishment of the Center for Charter Development.
