Recommendations:

1. Opening Aircraft Positions to Women
DACOWITS recommends the Secretary of Defense establish a gender neutral assignment policy in military aviation for all services.

2. Remaining gender based Assignment Restrictions on Combatant Vessels
DACOWITS recommends the Secretary of Defense support repeal of title 10, U. S. C. 6015 (U. S. Navy), the Combat Exclusion Statute. Furthermore, pending a change to the law, DACOWITS supports a reevaluation of the Navy's definition of combat and combatant vessels which would result in increased opportunities for women.

3. Women in Army Artillery
DACOWITS recommends the Secretary of the Army keep field artillery open to women and expand opportunities by opening Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS).

4. Command opportunities in Medical Facilities
DACOWITS recommends the Army open to the Army Nurse Corps and other AMEDD officers' opportunities for career-enhancing assignments, including command of medical facilities and units involved in delivery of health care.
